ARC Raiders Proximity Chat: Communicate Without Treating a Promise as Protection

EXTRACTION NOTES editorial desk · Published 18 October 2026 · 3 min read · Approx. 613 words

A voice conversation can create cooperation, confusion or unwanted contact. Know which channel is active, keep personal information private and let the actual raid rules and observed behavior guide your decisions.

Separate squad and nearby communication

Embark's communication guide distinguishes team coordination tools from proximity voice with Raiders outside your squad. Check the current voice controls and microphone mode before assuming everyone hears the same message.

Use a short test in an appropriate setting if the channel is unclear. A party conversation on a console can differ from the game's voice path. The official console troubleshooting article describes platform-level settings that may affect the result; use the relevant current instructions rather than changing every audio option at once.

This website does not request microphone access or record conversations. The planning task is understanding who can hear you and what information belongs in that channel. Keep real names, location details, account credentials and private group information out of an ordinary raid exchange.

State a limited intention clearly

If you choose to communicate with another Raider, use a concise statement about the immediate action, such as passing through an area or declining an encounter. Avoid making a long conversation necessary while you remain exposed or separated from the squad.

A spoken agreement is not a game-enforced guarantee. Read the current mode's actual rules and observe the other player's behavior. A temporary PvE test and standard PvPvE can have different damage conditions, so do not rely on assumptions from another session.

For a worked example, a Raider hears a friendly claim near a route. They acknowledge the message while retaining cover and an exit, then decide from the visible situation. They do not place a valuable objective item at risk solely because an unknown voice used a reassuring phrase.

Keep squad decisions connected

Tell teammates what was said without presenting it as verified safety. A useful report distinguishes the other Raider's claim from your observation: friendly message heard, location approximate, movement still being watched. This prevents one player's conversation from silently committing the whole squad.

Do not disclose the squad's private plan or every player's condition merely to prove good intentions. Share only what serves the immediate interaction. If communication becomes distracting, reduce it and return attention to the raid.

Use supported mute and reporting controls for harassment or other conduct concerns. Do not escalate into threats, publish personal details or fabricate an accusation because a negotiation failed. The provider's official process can assess conduct; a public argument cannot establish the complete context.

Review the communication outcome honestly

After the encounter, ask whether the channel and message helped the intended action. A successful passage does not prove every future promise is reliable. A betrayal or misunderstanding does not prove that all communication is useless.

If voice failed technically, record platform, channel and symptom, then use the official troubleshooting route. Keep privacy or parental settings respected rather than bypassing them. Change only the relevant supported control and test again.

Finish with a simple habit: know the audience, state a limited intention, preserve options and observe the response. Proximity chat is a social tool within the game's current rules. It can support a memorable encounter while remaining something different from a shield, a squad invitation or an official agreement that guarantees another player's next action.
